Flotilla 2-5 Welcomes You

         Flotilla 25 welcomes new members and provides the necessary training which opens the world of opportunities to boating enthusiasts. To join the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary you must be 17 years of age or older and a US citizen. Ownership of a facility (a boat, a radio station, or an aircraft) is desirable but not mandatory. There are other requirements but they are not extraordinary.

Public Education

 
1.   Classes "About Boating Safely" (ABS) are held at Newport Boats, 2500 W. Coast Hwy. Newport Beach, CA. Please contact Richard Matteo,  Flotilla Education Officer by email rm4cgaux@ca.rr.com ,Tel. (714) 838-0456.   The course covers topics such as: Safe Boat handling: "Rules of the Road"; Legal Requirements and much more.  

At the and of the course there will be revue and Test.  

Upon passing the course, you will receive a certificate of completion and I.D. card recognized by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies responsible for enforcing boating regulations.

Also, most insurance companies honor the certification and may allow a discount for individual boat owners. 

Fee $ 35 (Includes registration and materials). Pre-Registration is required.
